Freakshow - Why Heather and I Belong Together
Heather and I went to see a play at the Bath House in Dallas on Saturday. The play is called Freakshow, written by Carson Kreitzer. It deals with the life of a travelling freakshow, and some of the troupe members. It also touches on reasons why those shows no longer exist.
The show was pretty good, and a few members of the cast were excellent. In particular I want to single out Morgana Shaw as Amalia (the woman with no arms and no legs), Lulu Ward as Judith (the Dog-Faced Girl), and Kent Williams as Mr. Flip (the Ringmaster and owner). This production only plays through May 18th, so if you're interested I urge you to hurry and get your butt out there. You can get more details at:

Anyway, as we left the play, Heather was looking a little downcast.
"Didn't you like it?" I asked her.
"Yes, it was okay," Heather responded. "But I thought it was going to have real freaks in it. They were just actors. I wanted it to be real people, a real woman with no arms and legs. So I'm just a bit disappointed."
How could you not love her?
